Favorite songs about mental illness!

What’s your favorite songs that are about mental illness?

I haven’t thought much about it, but off the top of my head:

Everyone Know’s That You’re Insane by Queens of the Stone Age

I listened to this a lot the year I was in the mental hospital.

Some good song suggestions. This is not about schizophrenia but I like the song.

Taken from song facts website.

“This song takes on the topic of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia - something Calexico songwriters Joey Burns and John Convertino both had to deal with. Convertino’s mother had Alzheimer’s and died from the disease; Burns’ grandmother was afflicted with dementia and didn’t recognize him on her deathbed.”

I love “Unwell” by Matchbox20. I turn my car radio very loudly when it plays.

Radiohead - blackstar
My brother loves it

Crawling by Linkin park. The authors say it is about substance abuse, but the lyrics resonate with me.

Definitely Ian Dury and the Blockheads.

“You’ll see glimpses”

This is the best song about losing your mind

Gnarles Barkley “Crazy”

I will post the song after I say that this song was the key into my beginning to think songs were “about me” and I thought movies and songs were about me. I will post the video now…

Lithium - female cover

^ “Better Son/Daughter” by Rilo Kiley, and two songs by ROAR: “I Can’t Handle Change” and “The Comfort of a Laugh Track”. They make me think of my experiences with social anxiety disorder and depression, and being a crappy friend 'cause of my whole schizoid thing.

Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes - Jimmy Buffett …
