I’ve watched a bit of a documentary on Mussolini with my grandmother, it was sad when they talked about his suicide attempts, depression and realizing that he was doomed during his captivity a few months before his bloody execution by some partisans.

Inbetween the soccer games today they went to one of Stalin’s vacation homes in Sochi. It’s part of their history that they can’t change. They don’t agree with a lot of what Stalin did, but it’s still history. It was an interesting house. The reporter used the same pool cue that Stalin used.

I read that Stalin conserved a note from one of his old communist friends that he executed during his purges that said something like “friend joseph, why?”. Very sad…
