Fantasies of quitting my job

There’s no way I can do it before July, in July it will be my ten year anniversary with the company and I’ll get a bonus. My last bonus was $500. I’m expecting to get the same amount but I’m hoping for a $1000. It would be nice not having to get up early and drive to work. And I’m so tired every day, I have no energy. It would be so nice not to have to put in the four hours a day. I can dream. I don’t know how else I would occupy myself though.

It’s simple. Get a pet. That helps. Spend alot of time eating so much you gain 5 pounds a week and develop diabetes.

Oh and porn, it’s essential you start viewing lots of porn.

lol. I’m just kidding. Except maybe the pet part. Get more hobbies I guess. I don’t know. You may regret retiring or you may not. Everybody is different.

Some people do well in retirement. Some people are busybodies like my dad and constantly have to keep busy even after they retire.

I honestly do get bored sometimes myself and have considered a part time job, but you are a few years older than me.

If 500 bucks or 1000 is keeping you going as an incentive, and you can otherwise quit now and be ok, I would just forget about the money, but at the same time walk for atleast a half hour everyday if you are not working or doing anything

Congrats on ten years, that’s awesome. Hope they up the bonus. Idle time for recovered addicts poses a threat. I know without a job I’d be at risk of relapse. Having commitments keeps me in line.

I get feeling tired. I work evenings, I get to sleep in every day, and the schedule works in my favor. But I still feel depleted all the time.

I’m looking for another part-time evening gig as my current job may end. I’d stay in b2c (biz to consumer) sales but it’s tough to be on the wrong side of 40 looking for entry-level work. :crossed_fingers:
