Ethics of digital technology for mental health: is this the end of the digital dilettante?

I wonder how many here use mental health apps. I don’t, I don’t have a smart phone. I have considered buying one but am reluctant to as I hardly make any phone calls.

You could buy a tablet - it’s significantly cheaper and you will only need a wi-fi connection.

I tried a mental health diary where I plugged in my medicine and charted my moods over time. I forgot to input data into it for a long time and eventually lost interest.
