You didn’t exist for billions of years and it didn’t bother you in the slightest. Why would a future non-existence bother you at all?

Yeah eternal oblivion scares me too but there’s a part of me that believes in life after death, reincarnation

I would like to believe it…but I find it hard to believe its true logically. The cynic in me tends to think that it is the want to believe in life after death that drives people to proclaim their faith in it. If this is too honest for the forum, oh well.

I will likely never be fully sure, but my tendency as I get older is to believe that its likely false.

Experiencing nothing is nothing to be afraid of, since you won’t be experiencing the nothingness. That’s the way I think of it. I’m more scared of potential suffering leading up to my death.

Yes I agree. It is just self projection of all the things we have been indoctrinated to believe all our lives, and fear of being nothing. The idea of being nothing is so scary that all sorts of tales and fairytales have been made up to believe in so that we can cling on to our selves for as long as we can.

Beliefs are what we make up for what we don’t know and cannot understand. Here you go, a :fairy: That is what did it! And here are some rules that mankind has made up for the magic fairy.

Currently, my thoughts have been edging towards ā€˜The universe is out to get me’ due to my 51 years of life experience.

I ask myself. ā€˜How to placate the universe?’

Is it through supplication (begging)? Do I have to follow someone else’s interpretation of the world and obey their rules? As though their intellect is superior, and see the world through their eyes which is impossible!

The world is what it is to me and to me alone. If only through supplication or some ritual I could placate the universe and have an easier, better time, but alas there are no answers there.

And so the search inside myself continues…

I have an unusual belief that,

We are all one supreme being every one’s life is just a ā€œmomentā€ to the supreme being,
who is living his life span experiencing every thing in this world and universe.
Our responsibility is live as much as we can.
No matter what its is, remembering for every action there is a reaction. And energy can only be transferred.
Never destroyed.
Supreme beings memory and brain, is the world we see around.

Oh crap I am tripping

I like the saying that death feels the same it felt before you were born. After I die I don’t think I’ll mind being dead, but the moment you realize that that’s it, that you’re dying that very instant must be dreadful.

One good thing about worrying about dying is that you realize it’ll happen no matter what and sort of get tired of fighting it, so the only thing that really scares you is the moment before death, and not death itself.
