Engagement rings

I’m thinking about choosing a moissonite lab created ring over a diamond. It’s not like he can’t afford it but how often am I gonna wear this ring as I don’t like them. It’s more sparkly than a real diamond and for the fraction of the price. Check it out.

Thats very thoughtful of you.

I don’t know if it’s me being thoughtful … I just don’t feel it’s necessary to spend that much on something I’m not likely to wear much.

I’d get a non traditional stone before I’d get moissonite.

I know lots of women that have them and in retrospect, wish I had opted for a less traditional ring.

But moissonite is beautiful.

Alternatively id pick a sapphire (blue or pink) but I’ll see close to the time next year.

I think getting a sapphire is a better idea.

The problem with moissonite is that it’s pretending to be a diamond.

I prefer real stones.

Even if they’re not diamonds.

However, it’s a very personal decision.

Get what you both like and is in budget.

That’s most important.

Unfortunately, my smartphone camera cannot capture the sparkle and glitter from a diamond ring. :slightly_frowning_face:

Does anyone know if an iPhone 13 Pro or Pro Max can capture the sparkle & glitter from diamond ring because my new Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra cannot.

You need good lighting but a video is more likely to capture it than a photo.

I tried video recording with my smartphone camera as well. The camera still could not capture the sparkle & glitter as I moved the smartphone with the “light on” around the diamond ring. If I could post the video I would but can’t.

I have diamond studs I know they sparkle but won’t come close to moissonite… It’s got a high refraction index , which is higher than a diamond.

That’s great your diamond studs sparkle but would be better if I could actually see the sparkle & glitter. I guess Moissonite diamonds are the alternative.

I kind of figured out that the CNC (Computer-Numeric-Control) system and the drill bit that was used to etch out the words “Disney” must cost a fortune because I don’t see how another etching tool can script the word “Disney” like that.

They also have ethically sourced diamonds but I’m guessing those come at a price. But you’re right , I would not be comfortable wearing a diamond
