Don’t think I am going to be open about my diagnosis anymore

I’ve always been pretty open about it, but I’m right there with you now. Too many bad reactions. It’s just not worth it anymore.

Even if I get to know anyone here, there is no way I’m telling them. I’ve had too many bad experiences. People aren’t nice.

It hurts when that happens. It has been my experience that I prefer to know who is a bigot and who isnt. If they’re willing to be educated and informed, great. If they arent then that’s fine too, better off without them.

We shouldn’t have to hide, and I refuse to hide any longer.

It’s a tricky one . I do believe being open about it and explaining how it does or doesn’t affect you is the way to make the general public have a more realistic and less negative view of it .

However I accept that doing so is hard especially when people treat you like crap for doing so . The crap comes quickly , but reducing people having a crap attitude will take time .
