Does anyone know of a math placement test online?

I want to take one to see what level am I in maths…

Not sure of any tests, but I am good at theories but not so much applied mathematics

What’s your strength?

Algebra I guess…

How old are you?

From memory you’re at a college age?

Can you focus your study in your current education situation?

I always found the generalist educations were not for me.

Like to go into a topic and research it throughly, rather than have a superficial knowledge

This was my main issue with school.

University level you have a spark of independence about your learning which worked well for me

I am only 17 so first grade of high school in Finland.

Try and hold out. There is a lot of opportunities to learn more interesting things as you get through the system

like what things?

Any interest you want to pursue. Pick the right college and they’ll let you do that

Check if your school website has a practice test that you can print out and answer.

Calculus really isn’t that hard. It does require a solid background in algebra, trigonometry, and functions in general. Students who have gaps in these pre-requisites encounter difficulties in calculus and think it’s because of calculus.

I’ve taken Calculus (I and II) and Linear Algebra (I and II). For someone who did well in pre-calculus, calculus was just the next progression, and it didn’t seem like some huge jump up in difficulty.

I don’t know trig that well

I had trouble with math in high school. Then, when I came back from the army I had cut down my caffeine consumption, I wasn’t drinking, I was getting about the right amount of exercise, I was doing transcendental meditation, and I was going to AA meetings. Math came easily to me then. I can only do math when I am very calm. That isn’t universal, though, because I have known very intense people who were great at math. But you will probably do better at math if you can keep yourself on an even keel.

I was always one of the best in math in school and university. My teachers wanted me to compete in math competitions to win real money but I refused. My grades did go down since sz but math was the least affected cognitive skill by my sz. I haven’t studied math since I finished university in 2019 so I forgot most of it.

If you’re really good in math, do they have math competitions in Finland? Maybe ask your teacher. Here you can make 10 000$ if you win I was told.

If you like algebra you will like matrices.
