The earth only has to increase a few degrees to become uninhabitable.

Maybe we extinct similar like the dinosaurs. They had a meteorite coming and we polluting ourselves.

At a certain point yes, but they are predicting about a 1.5C increase right now. Itā€™s estimated that during the Jurassic period the average temperature was between 2-8C degrees warmer than it is now and life thrived. So we still have some breathing room before life goes extinct.

I donā€™t know what the Earth was like in the Jurassic period, but looking at the state of the world right now, with crops failing, temperatures rising, wildfires, extreme weather, we donā€™t live in the same conditions as the Jurassic Period. I imagine most of the world was covered in canopy and it was very humid. Today it is deforested and dry.

Theyā€™ve been predicting the end of the world for thousands of years. Someone or other is always saying the world is going to end. As far as I know it hasnā€™t happened yet.

Yes, and itā€™s a very common feeling, so itā€™s fair to say that probably the end of the world would not be preceded by anything different from what we currently feel. That said, the looming water and food production crisis is going to be brutal.

I would be excited if we could survive another 4 billion years. Imagine what humanity could do. Iā€™ve predicted all the possible apocalypse scenerios and weā€™ve managed to evade them all so far. I think the current president was destined to be president. Itā€™s not something I believed/its what my cards kept saying that he was destined for victory and that something he did would save the world.

I hope we do not end up a sinking island where everyone looks the same. Most of my dreams around the beginning of the new year are a different apocalypse scenerio, and the dreams predict all the challenges and conflicts for the coming next few years. Iā€™m waiting on my next epic dream. I already predicted the pandemic, trump, and everything elseā€¦

I think time is going to go backwards for awhile until humanity sorts itself out, but we need to stack the deck right because the future isnt something to waste.

I used to think it would end with China nuking the world, after Russia betrays the US. Which is why we end up being a sinking island where everyone looks the sameā€¦but humans dont survive much long after that and thereā€™s no future or glory in that eitherā€¦

I sometimes dream that the world is coming to an end. Hate those dreams. But I guess weā€™ll wait and see. However, I do think that ā€˜the systemā€™ has to take better care of the planet. When I see sea turtles stuck in plastic, I think we should do better.
