I have a laptop but it’s over 5 years old. I don’t use it and I do everything on my phone!
But I’ve always been afraid not to have a PC.
It’s not beefy enough for windows 11, so when the time comes I have to decide do I get another laptop with windows 11 installed or simply go without a PC entirely.
I have a phone/laptop/PC and for surfing the Internet, this website for example. I much prefer the PC. I have a big 27" high res monitor, full sized keyboard and that is the way I like it. I rarely use my laptop. I use my phone for text/calls and certain apps, but I hate using it to surf the Internet and I hate typing stuff out on a little screen.
My laptop is Winnows 11 compatible but my PC is not. So I’m stuck with windows 10 for a while on my PC because I don’t have the money to buy a new PC. I could use my laptop but it’s 15.6" and a little too small for me. I use it when I go out somewhere but when I am at home I use my computer.
Yeah, I have a gaming PC too, but I built it around 2015 so its getting a little old (Core i7 6700k, 32GB RAM, 1080 GTX) but still runs most modern games at at least 60FPS on med/max graphic settings. I don’t have a 4k monitor, mine is 1440p but I’m happy with it. I’m starting to save for a new gaming PC for Windows 11. I don’t want a “regular” computer from Dell for example for windows 11, its gotta be a gaming PC that I build myself.
My laptop is s pretty good gaming laptop and Win11 compatible. Core i7 9th gen, 32gb mem, 2080 max-q, 1080p IPS screen, 15.6"
I’ve got about seven PCs right now, two laptops, and a Chromebook. Also have a 7" Fire tablet (eReader) and my Samsung phone. Various retro gaming systems and a refurbed PS4. Three of the PCs for SQFM are fanless and low power. The database backend for the radio station lives on a RaspberryPi4 running Linux and MariaDB. It’s small, fast, stable, and cute.
Mrs. and Miss. Pixel also have their own laptops and PCs.
I have no interest in Windows 11. I just need something that runs my apps, if they work on Windows 10 then I’m happy.
My husband built two gaming PC towers (one for each of us, to play together).
I’m sitting at the “art desk” right now, in the office. Behind me, there are two more computer desks. One has an extra wide gaming monitor. One has two monitors side-by-side. Hubby is at that desk right now, working. He has his work laptop (a really high-end one) docked, so it displays on the two monitors.
Lots of computers… But that’s to be expected when your husband is a Systems Admin in networking and has been building PC’s since before he was 10.
I’m exactly the same. Since having psychosis I found having a computer is absolutely needed. It can be a big distraction in so many ways, and when I have days or months when I’m not doing very well, its nice to have various things to do.
I’ve been building my own computers for over 20 years.
My first computer was a commodore 64 back in the 1980’s, then my second was an IBM PC in the mid 1990’s that my mom got a deal on at her work. Then after that I’ve been building my own computers.
I’m pc person and due to build a new one but parts are expensive at the moment. I also have an iphone I use a lot but prefer a pc for gaming and even browsing. Nothing like building a decent gaming rig.
i just built another pc recently that has windows 11 and can handle all my gaming needs. i also have a laptop from 2016 that cant run windows 11 but i put a linux distro on it to see what its like: Pop!_OS
linux is good for older hardware as their are alot of distros that run light. my laptop got kind of slow with windows 10 as it had a 5400 rpm hdd in it, my desktop has an 1tb ssd. i may get a cheap 120 gb ssd so the laptop can run faster. i dont need alot of storage on it as i have all my big files like games on my desktop
