I don’t think I can use this forum any more because of this fault. If I was to become psychotic the fact that delete may not work is very dangerous for me. I think I may have to close my account. And then to get these distressing UNTRUE notifications makes it even worse…

Once again, The Lounge is not a catch all for every type of post. Forum-related posts go in the Meta category. Also, it was explained to you when you joined that our software retains posts (most forum software does these days - we are just honest about it).

I think @Voithos makes a good point. And the transparency of the Admins is something thats really helpful, considering they are not obliged to tell us such things.
Dont leave us though. We enjoy your contributions .etc would be sad if you went.
I think you can only use delete once a day, or once every 24 hours.

Anything we “delete” as moderators is not deleted. It is hidden from users and search engines, but still in the database. Even if you ask us to remove posts that you are bothered by having made – and we try to be reasonable about this – they persist in the forum software in the background. We try to make sure people are aware of this so they don’t feel misled later.
