When I was 19 I used to hang out with a guy I had met while we both worked at the same restaurant. We used to smoke pot and drink beer as often as we could afford to, which was pretty often and we would drive all over the place. We were rarely sober while we drove, we usually had a beer in our hands or a joint going. (yeah, I know how bad and dangerous this was but we were stupid, immature kids). We both had cars and we traded off driving duties.
This was 1980 and there was a gas shortage going on and gas was rationed out. We didn’t have much money for gas so we started stealing all of our gas from other cars… We used to drive around our cities late at night with a 1 1/2 chunk of garden hose and a gas can and siphon gas out of strangers cars. It was easy, we would just go up to a car, unscrew the gas cap, stick one end of the hose down the gas pipe and suck the other end until a siphon got going and once we did that we would fill up the container that holds two gallons of gas and when we were done we would pour it in our own gas tanks. Because of the gas shortage, the line of cars to get gas at gas stations could be one or two blocks long. This lasted for three months but because we were siphoning we only went to a gas station once in three months
i would call my girlfriend for free on pay phones…from other states in australia.
you would ring the operator from melbourne…they never answered straight away…so they did not hear the out of state ’ beeps '.
you then said you put money in the machine and it did not connect…you had to tell them the number on the pay phone…we had a number of a pay phone in sydney.
they then connected you…for free…i would talk for an hour so.
i saved a lot of money…and the phone company could afford it anyway .
take care
I had friends who stole DVDs from Walmart. We’d go in as a group and they would break the theft deterrent cases. We got stopped once, but it was my friend who had bought something, so they just checked her receipt and we left.
Also my brother’s tailgating crew stole a whole row of bleachers out of Tiger Stadium.
ETA:
Another thing that I do accidentally is I can steal newspapers from the machines. I can push the coin return button the same time as I open it, so I get my paper and my change back.
i had a job whilst backpacking around australia selling oil paintings with their frames !?!
i would say i did them myself with a few artist friends !?!
they were imported from asia…they were $10 each, and a frame was $5…
we sold them for $90 to $150…
for two years of my life i lied about everything…
i would drive out of petrol stations with out paying…
i was a mini criminal enterprise…
credit card fraud…drugs…i was bad.
" i could have been a contender "…
take care
p.s i regret the lies i told and my actions now… that is partly why i don’t lie anymore.
