Can't sit still because of Abilify

Can’t sit still, it’s annoying cause I’m not even enjoying anything. And I’m not particularly motivated to do anything either. I guess I can pace around my apartment but that’s about it.

Maybe its akathisia/restlessness?

Which dose of aripoprazole

Honestly only on 5mg right now. Which I know isn’t a therapeutic dose of abilify.

Yeah, it might be, but I also can’t concentrate, which I don’t think that’s from the abilify.

I had akathisia on 80mg Latuda and I was prescribed Benztropine for it.

You’re only on 5mg though, idk if that dose can cause akathisia. I was on 10-20mg Abilify over 8yrs but never had akathisia or restlessness.

I actually have proponolol laying around for migraines, I think they prescribe that for akasasthia. I might try that, although should probably ask my doctor first. Idk, you might be right. I definitely have increased energy from it though, but still an inability to concentrate.

Maybe even the 5 mg dose is too much for you, or maybe the med isn’t right for you. Check in with your pdoc about it

I was on 30mg Abilify and had terrible akathasia

Actually I for sure had akasthasia from it before. But I’ve been off and on it so many times because of my lack of adherence to it. Don’t meds lose their effectiveness if you start and stop them?

Thats what my psychiatrist told me.

Yeah, so idk what it even is doing for me anymore. I think it stopped me from going into a pyschotic break, but I don’t even know anymore. Well like a week ago I did have thoughts that my neighbors hated me, and those thoughts have seemed to ease. Also people walking outside my apartment felt very threatening.

Sorry guys, I’m a basket case, also there’s a chance that my pyschosis was stemming from me coming off Nardil too fast. (Didn’t know that psychosis was a withdrawal symptom). So I’m just dumb through and through.

I don’t belong on this forum since it isn’t confirmed I have schizophrenia or simple schizophrenia that I would suspect, but I could be completely wrong. Sorry guys.

I’m on 2.5mg of abilify. I think it’s therapeutic

Right? So I’m not crazy. I’ve definitely noticed the effects of abilify even at only 5mg. But it doesn’t feel the same as before, so maybe it has lost it’s effectiveness on me. Which is a shame cause I liked how it made me feel (mood wise).

Oh well, I’m fine.

Yea I think anti depressants are known for that.

Like, needing increasing doses over time.

It’s what I’ve heard.

And yea 5mg acts as an antidepressant too

U probably know
