Why single out just poll makers? If you are going to have moderator approval before posting then surely it should apply to all posts. After all what is so bad about making polls that warrants special treatment in a negative way?
Due to the negativity from certain quarters I won’t be making any more polls.
Anyone familiar with forums that have polls knows that they can get out of hand. Don’t get so sensitive, this isn’t about just you.
It seemed easier to ask people to apply restraint now than to wait till we have 20 polls on the first page of the forum. I’ve seen it happen.

I have never said or indicated it is just about me. I actually apologised for overdoing it with making polls and agreed with your call for restraint. It was the sense of negativity that got to me rather than the reasonable plea for restraint.
They’re fun, and new. I dig them. No need to apologize. As it stands, you are one of the few people on the forum I’d feel comfortable with making polls. Your dedication to the site and worthy contributions to the news section are notable.

Ah - I don’t think its an issue. Like all new things - I think people will try it for a while, then the usage will go down. Don’t worry about it. Lets just see where it goes and how usage is. I really like the questions people have been posting in the polls.

Yes - we haven’t done anything to prevent it. As I suspected, the popularity has gone down (as with any new toy :-).
