You have a lot of foods in South Africa that i’m unfamiliar with. You mentioned something yesterday I had to google. I just googled biltong. It looks kind of like our beef jerky here. Looks pretty tasty!

They used to push those food dehydrators on tv infomercials where you could make your own jerky. Beef jerky, turkey jerky, all that. I kind of wanted one.

According to Wikipedia, biltong and beef jerky are similar. They might not be exactly the same. There are different flavors of beef jerky out there, like peppered and teriyaki and others. There is also turkey jerky, made from turkey. I have heard of fish jerky but never tried any.

Fish jerky tastes nice, but smells really bad. Open up a bag and the room will smell for hours, lol

The best dried meat I’ve ever had is dried reindeer heart.
I know it’s not the same as jerky, but I thought I’d mention it. It’s a bit salty, but I can’t stop eating it when I get a hold of some.
