Benefits of video games for people with schizophrenia: a literature review -

I just got too old to play them, I think.

I realised the futility of playing each game and had trouble lending my reality to them.

It is like the little social media dopamine hits one gets. It is a neverending trap I’d rather avoid.

Plus avolition from meds perhaps.

I enjoyed them over 10 years ago, but no longer.

Old codger that I am… :older_adult:

i feel that no one is too old for video games. a friend of mine told me the other week that he was too old and now this week i found him playing civilization again. i currently play civ 6, railroad empires i’m trying to learn, tropico 6 too that’s an old favorite of mine going back to the early 2000’s with the original version. want some flight sims maybe i’ll buy one at the beginning of next month.

Computer games is one form of entertainment I can do for a few hours at a time. I rarely watch movies or too much tv as it’s hard to sit through. A game I can stick with so it’s worthwhile entertainment for me.

Some games like DOOM Eternal can get your heart pumping so I wonder if it’s like exercise?

I lost interest in video games a few years ago. I miss em somehow still tho….maybe i should try again.

I find it harder to play games than I did 8 years ago. I used to get lost in them for hours. Now they demand a lot of energy from me that I often don’t quite have.

I still play a few times a month tho. On a good month sometimes more.

I still buy games occasionally and try to get into them but usually fail. Back in the day i would play games for hours and hours at a time. These days i feel too apathetic and cant seem to get invested in them. On the other hand my girlfriend can game for like 10 hours at a time endlessly. I envy her for that. Being so entertained…
