My mother was a professional clown. I grew up in a circus town, so there were a LOT of clowns. I imagine the 2016ish creepy clown thing was :grimacing::grimacing:

I am ok with doll clowns as they are only toys.
But I am scared of human clowns, I think that they are worse. I don’t mind witches, even the real ones seem nice. But clowns are creepy, even if they are being one just to entertain people.

I read stephen king almost exclusively growing up, only one of his books is about a clown to be fair. I think they nailed it with the way Pennywise looks in the new movies. I kinda didn’t like the 90s version, aside from the fact that his head looked swollen which was creepy.

I didn’t think I was afraid of clowns until my aunt and I went on a little road trip when I was pregnant.

We stopped to stay the night at her college roommates house and they generously gave me their daughter’s bedroom for the night.

I walked in and there were porcelain clowns everywhere.

EVERYWHERE.

All I did was hold my belly and dart my eyes from clown to clown all night.

It was terrifying.

No sleep.

Clowns are TERRIFYING. I’ve been scared of them since I’m little. A clown took our school pictures in nursery school, and I cried the whole time.

I’m not afraid of them. I mean, I think clowns are pretty creepy and all. I just find the whole clown thing a little funny.

I bet all the clown hiring agencies have Stephen King on their shitlist Lol.

Back when I was in the 2nd grade, I was on the local TV Bozo show. He was really mean, and I haven’t gotten over it.

I remember watching that show as a young kid. Sorry to hear Bozo was mean. I think multiple people have played Bozo so I have no idea which one was mean to you. Sorry to hear that ruined your experiences with clowns.

Personally, I have never been afraid of clowns, except maybe Pennywise. :crazy_face:

This thread reminds me of the Bozo the clown episode on Seinfeld. It’s funny but if you have a clownphobia then you probably shouldn’t watch it…
