The main goal of tracking us on internet is to display ads or send ads email.
But I watched a doc about our private datas.
A company that buy, sells these data or stores it can record several thousand criteria on a single person. it means that they know you almost better than your friends … In a democracy it’s ok, but in a troubled time, I find that worrying. : /
Sorry I’m a bit of an extremist when it comes to the internet but it was something that made me delusional at the time.
That’s what I call free data, unfortunately our data protection isn’t as valuable as the profits from the companies. Unless is tik tok of course, then people get worried about your data being held in China, although to be fair it’s not about data, it’s more about power.
If you’re a data analyst your company may need to buy data to launch new products based on their previsions, or a company might need to share their data to know how to improve their processes and be more profitable.
