I have hyperphantasia, the other end of the spectrum. It can be linked with hallucinations and delusions.
For me the effect has been most noticeable when it comes to the guided imagery used for relaxation classes. It also ties in with poor autobiographical memory for a lot of us who have it. My autobiographical memory is poor.

Prosopagnosia (face blindness) is found more often in people with aphantasia as is poor autobiographical memory.
When I first did the Cambridge face memory test I scored 54% which is below average. I don’t think I have prosopagnosia though as I am quite good at recognising familiar faces.
