I don’t socialize too much because socializing leads to making friends and that is too much responsibility and stress.
I might talk to my neighbors very rarely (maybe once in a few weeks) about their pets and my pets, but I’m far from friends with them.
Lol, I live in a small town in the middle of nowhere also.
I think for me it’s my social anxiety, among other things. I just don’t feel comfortable around people like I used to in the past. I however think/hope that if the “right” people come along I’ll feel at ease socializing with them.
For what I been through in my life, my social skills aren’t that great.
I don’t like being around strangers and the idea of meeting someone new makes me nervous - especially if we don’t get along well. I’m picky with people. But yes my paranoia plays into this.
