I had to ChatGTP what that meant.

But no, I’m not from Liverpool.

Before you chatgpt’d it did you have any intuitions on what you thought it meant? Now that you say that I’m realizing the word itself sounds like it could mean something offensive lol

No I had no clue.

But I’m used to having to search words as there is often slang on the forum, which I often don’t get as a non-native.

Residents of Liverpool are often called ā€œScousersā€ in reference to scouse, a local stew made popular by sailors in the city, and the name is also applied to the distinct local accent. The city has a culturally and ethnically diverse population and historically attracted many immigrants, especially from Ireland, Scandinavia, and Wales. It is the home of the earliest black community in the UK, the earliest Chinese community in Europe, and the first mosque in England.

My family is from the northwest. My nan said scouse was a common dish back in the day. Apparently most Liverpudlians couldn’t afford meat and their meatless scouse was technically called ā€˜blind scouse’.
The uk is incredible. Accents change every 20 miles you travel

I lived in Liverpool for a year - love the architecture of that city. Beautiful! My younger brother is a student there, at th University of Liverpool.
