I just woke up a short time ago. I decided to grab an apple to munch on.
Everything was going fine. Apple was tasting normal. Then all off a sudden I bit into a spot that tasted really bad. Tasted like moist dirt/earth mixed with a chemically/pesticide like taste.
My grandma and grandpa, and now my aunts since they moved into same property, had/have apple trees. I know its possible for worms to get in there. But I have never found a worm inside a store bought apple before.
Anyway, that was the first conclusion that jumped into my mind after seeing the hole.
Our house was built on an old, abandoned apple orchard and had plenty of wormy apples. They are very small, light in color and taste no different from the apples, themselves. What you got in yours looks awful.
Maybe apples are sick of being killed, sliced and consumed. They figured out a way to live. They pay worms to invade them. It’s concerning. They wrote a book called The Rise of The Granny Smiths.
