Found this while searching for some good news on sz. Tired of seeing only negative articles.
I hope you’re right and that there is no permanent negative and cognitive symptoms.
Any mGlur1 agonists? I will google that.
Idk much about mGlur receptors but I read they’re involved in brain development. I hope its not too late to fix it.
I read “new approach” and immediately wondered…
Are they sneaking up on it from behind now?
I haven’t tried that. Could work.
Study; “These findings support the use of group I mGluR antagonists as a potential therapy that extends to autism models involving exacerbated mRNA translation initiation.”
Excessive mGluR1 & mGluR5 are linked to ASD. This new mGluR based treatment for SCZ therefore might have unattended long term side effects. Who knows . . .
I read about how the mglur5 receptor being enhanced indirectly affects the nmdar receptor. I think similar to how sarcosine would affect it.

There’s a racetam nootropic called fasoracetam that is a mglur non selective agonist. It’s an unregulated supplement so it would be tough to know if it was quality.
If you just read the conclusions it can tell you about how sarcosine affects these receptors
