I’m a little let down, I was hoping the new med would get rid of the hallucinations. It’s kind of worked but not completely
Are you talking about abilify?
How long have you been on it?
Remember it can take over a month to take full effect.
I’ve been taking it i think about a month. I know I’m being over eager but I just hoped this med would help. It’s quiet some though
Hopefully in the next week or two or three there will be more changes
It is best to just live with them. Success stories with meds are only a few on here. Does it give you a fighting chance? If so then you are on to something.
Yeah I organized out giant mess of a towel shelf
I’m sorry @cbbrown! I wish I could take it all away for you!
Thank you @FlyingPurplePeopleMeeter I feel better after listening to some Jimmy eat world and believe it or not cleaning
Meds dont get rid of hallucinations. They minimize them. If meds got rid of them completly, they would be hailed as a cure for schizophrenia.
Having a routine and distracting yourself helps.
You got a point. 15151515
My pdoc once told me that anxiety makes hallucinations and delusions worse, so if you have your anxiety nailed down that should minimize them as well.
you ok cb? 23232323
Take care of yourself @cbbrown.
Yeah just feel like I’m trying too hard to be what everyone expects. My in laws expect a miracle and no voices.
I feel hyper but it doesn’t feel like mania it’s weird. Mania I get a strange feeling in my stomach from it
I’m with you, no medicine has been able to stop my voices. After we try clozapine when I get back to VA, if that doesn’t eliminate voices after a couple months I’m going to give up and accept having them for life.
I’m on abilify and latuda, together they kind of work but I don’t think the hyperness is going to last
Cleaning does make you feel better! It gives you a feeling of accomplishment!
Actions speak louder than words - even than voices. Kudos for the towel job.
it took a while when i changed meds
It’s a marathon not a sprint! It really is!
Give it time and do the little things to add to your life. Stay busy. Exercise if able and eat well. The meds will catch up and a month is getting there but realistically you’d expect 6 weeks for results worth writing home about. Still. Hang in there!
