You won’t believe this situation!

I hope her eye can be saved. How scary for her. I’m glad you’ve been able to support her.

My father had an issue with his retina and his ophthalmologist sent him to a retina specialist the same day.
Turns out he has a clogged optic artery.
He’s partially blind in his right eye probably caused either by his glaucoma or clogged artery

Thanks @SpringRose. Yes, it’s scary. She still has some vision in her eye luckily.

@wave, luckily they don’t think it’s her retina. I hope they figure out what’s wrong soon

They need to do better than that! The situation is precarious. If she loses her sight in that one eye you ought to sue the hell out of that doctor

Yeah. My frustration is in the fact that they’re not communicating with her what’s going on. She doesn’t have a clue what’s up or what it could be. Frustrating!

Sorry @ZmaGal, family often is not good support, but just try not to go with stress, you had enough in life.
Stay as you can calm for your self,bc you have your own medical issues…

@zoa, right now she needs support which is why I’m so involved. She lives alone and she needs an advocate so I’m doing it. It’s no big deal to help her. I just hope she’s ok, and the drs figure it out

I hope for the best.

My cousin is in the hospital too. Had a heart attack. Not an extreme recognizable one. Was just feeling bad and his chest hurt. Only 57. Needed 6 bypasses. If he wouldn’t have gone to the hospital he would have died.

@Phrogflyer I’m sorry to hear he had a heart attack. But I’m so glad he got help.

Update: It turns out her brain is swelling and she has water on the brain. She’s been crying all day. I made sure the whole family knows. Unfortunately she lives very far away from family so no one can visit her. The hospital is giving her Ativan to help calm her nerves. :frowning:

Well that’s good news in a way – usually the sight comes back when the pressure goes away. They can also put a shunt in to keep the water from building up again in most cases.

Yup. I just feel bad she’s going through it alone. Also, they have to find out why it’s happening and they don’t know yet

Sorry to hear that @ZmaGal that sounds a little scary in itself. Is water on the brain painful for her? I really wouldn’t know

Oh my goodness. I am so, so sorry for her. She must be so scared.

Hopefully she’ll get the help she needs soon

@Cragger Yes I think it’s very painful. Her brain is swollen plus there’s water. She’s been crying a lot. They’re trying to help her as best they can

Poor she! I hope, that they’ll help her @ZmaGal.
I am sending you to her my good vibes, praying, that they’ll relieve her  :candle:. The swelling should be treatable with some meds, i hope it’ll turn fine!!!

They’ve been giving her IV steroids but the swelling hasn’t gone down. She also has water on the brain. They tried to do a lumbar puncture today but couldn’t because of her scoliosis. They’re trying to figure out what to do next

I see… I have a good premonition though, at least they have a dx already… Maybe they’ll try again the puncture… Stay strong you both, prayers, that the docs will be good on her!
