Make her a favorite meal and bring her some flowers or fresh pressed leaves from a field. Bring nature to her since she can’t be out.

good idea…I don’t know where there would be any flowers…we are making chicken and rice dinner tonight…didn’t feel like cooking on the 16th.

@jukebox, prolonged bedrest is absolutely the worst thing anybody can do for severe back pain, or any level of back pain.

I used to be in your wife’s dilemma. I was in so much back pain I was bedridden. I was in so much pain that I couldn’t bend over to wash my face or tie my shoes. I was starting to get dependent on other people. Doctors refused to give me narcotic pain meds, which I needed. I lived sitting on heating pads and hot water bottles. Then, I remembered reading long ago in a book, that yoga is good for the spine. I remembered that I still had that book.

Well, I got out that book and started reading it. I selected a sequence and performed it and repeated that for twenty minutes a day, four days a week, every week for six months. At the end of these six months, my back pain was gone. And stayed gone as long as I kept up my yoga practice faithfully.

I found that in order to keep the pain at bay, I could go no more than 2 days in a row without doing yoga before the pain would return. So it is a practice you must keep up.

And anybody can do yoga. No matter how old and/or out of shape you are. Yoga is for everyone. Have your wife try a free, online, 20 minute, beginning yoga class. If you think that she might be too inflexible and/or out of shape to handle that, have her try a free, online, gentle Chair Yoga class.

Congratulations!!! I really like @sweetpotatocasserole ‘s suggestion. It’s too bad there are no flowers or green life anywhere near you. But you can still bring dinner to her and spend quality time together. I hope you enjoy your evening

You can easily iron leaves onto paper to make a leaf bouquet. It preserves the leaves, too so they don’t wither. You can collect different color ones too to make it bright!

well our anniversary is long gone…nice ideas…but I am very lazy.

First, @jukebox huge congrats on your anniversary!

Second, I’m 100% with @SkinnyMe on this one. Yoga can make a huge difference! I tried Youtube tutorials but couldn’t do a lot of them because of my knees, so I bought 1. an extra pad for my knees and 2. a box of yoga cards so I could make my own routine. They weren’t too expensive; I got them on Amazon. I still stay in bed too much, but I’m working on it. Yoga helps my back so much.
