The original title for “Yesterday” was “Scrambled Eggs”. This song came to Paul in a dream. He woke up one morning with the melody in his head. He thought it was interesting and at first it sounded familiar and he thought that it was maybe a song he had heard somewhere else. He called the other Beatles and asked them if they had ever heard this before and they all said no. So he started developing the song and tried to come up with some lyrics. He called it “Scrambled Eggs” because it was morning time when he wrote it. Eventually he worked out the lyrics and he ended up with a song that became the most covered song by other artists ever.
