Yeah, TooGoodToGo again

Got a prepared bag from Whole Foods tonight for $9.99, it will feed me for at least three meals. In case you haven’t seen my posts on this before, TooGoodToGo is an app where as many as 12 local restaurants at a time sell food that is still fresh and good but a customer ordered it and never showed up or changed their mind and instead of adding to landfills, the restaurants sell the food over the app to be picked up for 1/3 of the price.

You’re not eating someone’s leftovers, the food hasn’t been touched by a customer. TooGoodToGo saves tons of food from being thrown out and wasted. Tonight I got a huge Greek Salad and some meatloaf. The restaurants vary and change, there’s a Chinese restaurant I see on their regularly that I go to, there’s a restaurant that sells sub sandwiches, Krispy Kreme sells their doughnuts on the app and theres Mexican food and Indian food and pizza etc. All for 1/2 to 1/3 of the full price.

SOunds good, but maybe a bit too unpredictable and complicated for my tastes. Is that app work nationally or is it a local thing?

It does sound like you got a good deal though, so congrats on your ingenuity, @77nick77 .

It can be unpredictable, whatever you get is a surprise but you know generally what type of food the restaurant serves. It’s not complicated at all. You go on the app, browse a list of restaurants and then you choose the one you want. It gives the address and time to pick it up, then you show the restaurant a code and they give you the food. It’s like four simple steps.

Where Too Good To Go Operates

  • North America: The service is available in many cities and regions across the United States and Canada.

  • Europe: It has a strong presence across Europe, including countries like the UK, France, and Germany.

  • Asia Pacific: The service has expanded to Australia and is launching in Japan.

How to Check for Availability

  1. Download the App:

The most reliable way to see if your area is covered is to download the Too Good To Go app.

  2. Use the In-My-Area Tool:

On their website, there’s a tool to check for availability in your specific city or region.

Did you ever check to see if you qualify for LIHEAP?

I did not. Ive been sick since last week tuesday. All Ive been doing is sleeping (when I can without coughing)and whatever im forced to do in between like dealing with carpeting people for wifes condo.

I kind of forgot about it. I really should though.

I just took a quick look at the LIHEAP program for Illinois. I think before I apply I may need to get some of my other stuff transferred over………I still have a lot of my stuff like drivers license, registration and stuff still listed in Iowa. WE have been dealing with a lot of wifes stuff because she had a name change and stuff like that but I have been neglecting to transfer alot of my stuff over.
