I started grocery shopping there a few months ago. Compared to Safeway and Lucky their prices are really good. A half gallon of milk runs about $2.00 at Walmart where at the other stores it cost $3.80. Eggs are cheaper too. You can find great one-time sales at the other stores but generally almost everything I buy at Walmart is way cheaper. And curbside pick up is free for orders over $35.
I just joined Walmart+…it’s half off if you’re on government programs like Food Stamps, $49 a year. It gives you things like free delivery on orders over $35 and a choice of a couple of streaming apps like Paramount. It’s going to save me a lot once the weather gets really cold and I don’t want to drive.
Walmart is one of the better options price wise. I can’t shop at the local one for produce, because their produce section is gross.
I mostly shop at Kroger because it’s the only grocery store in town. Just got a coupon from Kroger for a dozen free eggs. In this economy? I’ll take it.
We just spent 100 dollars at wal mart. I’m trying to convince my Mom to stop buying the bird feed. It’s still expensive even at Walmart.
I have Walmart+ as well. I don’t have a car so I get all my groceries delivered for free as long as it’s over $35. They also have free shipping with no minimum order. I was able to get a raincoat delivered in 2 days for free shipping where as Amazon was gonna take 5 days plus charge me for shipping. I don’t have Amazon prime.
You can get Walmart+ for half price if you’re disabled. And Amazon Prime for half price if you have the right documentation like an EBT card or proof of medicaid. With Prime you get their programming for free, all their movies, documentaries, old TV shows etc. and Grubhub for free, and of course free shipping.
When I worked there they had Sam’s Cola vending machines, a soda only cost a quarter.
Oh interesting. I did not know Amazon did any discount other than student discounts. But either way I don’t need bother Amazon AND Walmart+ so I will just stick with Walmart for now.
My local Walmarts prices are fantastic but the store itself is shabby and filthy.
I may start shopping there online though because yeah you can’t beat their prices
This is all VERY interesting to know. It’s things like this that make me very happy, and grateful, to be a Schizophrenia.com member.
Thanks for that, I didn’t know that before, I just signed up.
While you’re still driving, you can get gas for 10 cents off a gallon with your membership (at participating gas stations).
