Why visualisation techniques don't interest me much

I went through tons of visualisation experiences when I was young, one of my earliest memories was having a video recorder in my dreams which I could select my favourite dream from and replay it, this was before I had even seen a video recorder, lucid dreams were a waste of time too, I admit I’ve only had mild sensations of auras, just outlines in blue or grey, and once in Amsterdam on Mexican mushrooms, saw the technicolour auras of the trees, but I doubt practice would grant me such a sensation again, and besides it would probably confuse me more, stimulating my brain to try and work out even more complex algebraic shuffles. Chakras do strike me as interesting up to a point, but again, it is my algebra (or disorganised thinking) that is the problem, and I don’t think the colours my teacher chose are really the best for me. All in all, it is just more things to worry about, I’m basically alright apart from being so caught in the eye of the Tao from time to time. Thank you.
