Folk is dead except for die hards

And new folk sounds like pop.

I think rock in general has regressed. The local rock joint over here was very popular in the 80’s and 90’s. Then entering the 2000’s it gradually got less popular. The place went under in 2015 or something like that.

I’ve seen a decrease in the popularity of bands with members who play heir own instruments.

Fewer drum, bass and two guitar combinations in mainstream media. I mean they still exist, just not a whole lot of instrument playing on television anymore.

Jello Biafra said in an interview that punk kinda has to die so that something new can replace it.

In the 90s we had grunge which was like an off-shoot of punk.

The next wave will come. Eventually people will get sick of all this Taylor Swift pop crap.

I don’t see any progression even in pop music.

@schizophrenisaurus I think that’s the problem, even new punk rock music is so digital and they put on a filter to make it sound like real instruments that unclean, but it’s digitally fake. It still sounds digital.
