Why do we see dreams just before waking up

I see often dreams just before waking up, I do not why it is so.

I think it’s because we’re almost awake so it’s easier to recall them, then the ones we have during deep sleep. Unless it’s a nightmare that force us to wake up.

When I slept more I remembered more dreams… I sleep deeper now

I sleep about two hours a night. I have noticed to my regret that I have pretty much stopped dreaming.

With this new antidepressant I seem to dream a lot more.

@seriouslydisturbed - problems with the sleep cycle including absence of dreams is strongly correlated with major depression.

I see dreams after i wake up from a 6-8 hours sleep then going back to sleep again for an hour or two, in that hour or two i dream into almost a lucid dream but i cant really control it fully. Lol

That is pretty much me - I can’t remember the last time I dreamed because i don’t sleep much.
