Im wearing a rain jacket and sometimes the sound of it sounds like banging and exlosions in the distance. I didnt realize it was my jacket a first but i think it is. And the sound of my arm on the couch sounds like clearing a throat or weird breathing. I think the TV made a sound of a bang on my door. Bang somewhere. Anyone relate?

Yes. Not all the time just when I am hypervigilant. I may brush my arm against my side and it sounds like an animal is stalking me. My wife will make a noise while cooking and I think she is talking to me but she didn’t say anything, etc. Sometimes things sound different than what they are. I think it is my tinnitus distorting every sound and hypervigilance with me.

I miss interpret sounds a lot. I also do reality checks quite often and try to recreate the sound or discover where it came from. That works a lot of the time concerning what the actual sound was. Still happens though.

I misinterpret sound and location of sound. Kinda makes sense sense we have misinterpreted audible voices in our outside of our head
