Is sociopathy rife in America?
Some may have mental illness while other have egoist feeling…!!!
I don’t know why really but you’d be amazed at the number of westerns, and war movies and shows made in America since the 1950’s which involve setting disputes with guns. As a nation we have also been fighting wars for most of our existence in a minor or major way. I don’t actually support eliminating guns in my country however because there are too damn many of them and lawful people should be able to protect themselves against the unlawful. It’s just how it is. I don’t own a gun myself however because of my depression tendencies.
In fact, every country has some antisocial tendencies, but because information can not be transmitted to our eyes, the United States, of course, attracts more attention as a big nation than the smaller ones. There are such people in China, Russia, and many other countries, but we tend to focus that information on the United States
Some antisocial people exist in every country, and they should be viewed from other perspectives. I do not think guns should be the primary reason to look for root causes because explosives and cold weapon poisons can kill people
Because they don’t have any respect for life.
I don’t think it’s really an American thing… It’s more an accessibility thing
You may be right. My OP was aimed at provoking a response and starting a debate .
Yeh maybe you’re reading too much news from the UK.
The powerful and unwavering National Rifle Association (NRA) doesn’t yield to shooting massacres but encourages more sales of guns, rifles & automatic weapons.
Still, it’s hard to conquer a people, when they have weapons.
The majority of gun deaths in the U.S. are suicides.
GunPolicy.org estimates that in 2010 there were 3.78 guns per 100 people in the UK, while the US, meanwhile, is estimated to have 101 guns per 100 people.
The result has been roughly 50 to 60 gun deaths a year in England and Wales, which have a population of 56 million. Compare that to the US, a country about six times as large that has more than 160 times as many gun-related homicides.
Homicide or suicide it’s a massive problem either way.
Very interesting gun facts.
All you need is one big weapon like a nuke vs. a whole bunch of small weapons like handguns, shotguns & rifles. Then there will be no question of being conquered.
Well, gun culture and guns is pretty prevelant in usa.
I think I read somewhere that in countries where guns aren’t prevalent people still die by lots of other means (knives etc.). I can’t back this up with any stats though.
But it’s above my pay-grade to really have the ability to answer your question.
Everyone seems to have their own opinion: Technological isolation, easy availability of guns, bullying, lack of parenting or direction, violent video games.
It’s really hard to narrow the American gun phenomena down to one factor.
I can say for myself I don’t care for violence or guns.
Yes, there are many psychopaths and sociopaths living in the USA.
Gun ownership is a power thing.
I personally am Anti guns and a non violent person by nature.
I think a flawed me tal illness support system is to blame. It also seems to be the same demographic (young white males) who are committing mass shootings. So it may be up to mental illness, hormones and messages which are sent in society to young men. Also the instability of one’s sense of self during the teen years and early adulthood when the brain is still developing.
As for police murders, not all are committed with guns and not all by young white men. unfortunately the atrocities committed by police officers under the explanation of maintaining law and order don’t get as much news coverage as they ought to
According to this article, all but three of the 153 mass shooters studied were male and the vast majority of mass shooters were between the ages of 20 and 49.
i am not sure why they want to murder their own people for no reason I wish I could tell you but I will not defend or apologise for their actions or their right to have a gun.
