Why antidepressants don't work for negative symptoms?

I have negative and cognitive symptoms. APs are working for positive symptoms.

Psychiatrists seems to have a hard time to differentiate depression from negative symptoms, why?
What’s the difference between negative symptoms and depression? They also look the same for me…
Is it because they have different brain mechanisms?

My psy prescribed me an antidepressant but it only made me more sleepy.

For me they are distinct but they feed each other. I think the problem is that negatives make it hard to get out of depressive funk. Can make it really hard. I guess the thing is treatment. I have serious depression and take an antidepressant and it works well. Might pay to ask your doc to try another as there’s plenty on the market. It really can make a difference and it’s very common to have sz and depression together.
