Whoever said "Practice makes perfect." wasn't a musician

Because any performer knows live music is never perfect. Recordings can give one that idea because they are cut and spliced. It’s not like wiping crumbs off a table. Anyway, I heard that quote as a child and it only made me feel nervously defeated.

Good point. I think your soul and the emotion you put into music is the truest way to improve. We wouldn’t have such diverse types of music without people experimenting and finding a technique that works well for them. :slight_smile:

I doubt there is an activity that requires more practice than playing an instrument.

What about sports?..
