Who uses musical instruments as a way to deal with loneliness

I need something to connect to.

I’m buying sheet music today for my keyboard.

I want to learn some pop songs type things not mozart, beethoven etc.

I prefer the pop

I don’t play any instruments but I like listening to music or podcasts.

Do you also still use the excercise bike regularly

Not everyday anymore, but I still use my exercise bike a couple of times a week.

It’s staring in front of me all the time so that helps to remind me why it’s there :grinning:

Not for loneliness, but to keep my hands limber and my mind sharper.

I play keyboards and a keytar.

Badly.

I like guitar too but find it more difficult to play.

Keyboards are therapeutic.

Do you create your own pieces of music?

I found it was a double edged sword. The music could be depressing and the discipline so demanding as to cause me to withdraw socially.

I like to wallow in sadness sometimes

And I’m intentionally withdrawing for a while

It all suits, me

I like music because it can describe feelings.

And we share feelings with ppl.

So whilst I withdraw socially I can share my feelings with my music playing instead. Lol.

Hopefully my withdrawal wont be too extreme but I’m prepared for if it is. Lol

lol, when i’m thinking of my second keyboard, a ps10 yamaha it was boring as hell.

Played also pop songs from a sheet, the last one was Juliet by robin gibb i think, but i missed the music in that, tried to compose a song of my own, did it and lost interest, i was about 14.

In between i had a hammond organ, lost in the band room and a moog, for itself no big fun.

Before my last psychosis i played piano over software and a midi keyboard, one hour a day for about 3 years, i play free, type background music.

A classic expert asked who is playing that song on piano what i recorded and played at a meeting, so not too bad.

I lost my interest after psychosis and AP’s, time to go back to this i think, beside the synth sound escapades i do.

So, good luck with it @Zoe !

What keyboard do you play ?

Someone called that table horn lol

Cool yea maybe try again.

Don’t need to play hour a day maybe even just 20 minutes for example.

My keyboard is still packed away cos I was going to give up on it so can’t check the make but it’s heavy keys 88 of them  so was expensive.

Do you have a good keyboard atm?

88 keys ?
very unusal for a keyboard, do you mean midi keys ?

Actually i have no keyboard, midi keys, the last one had sticky keys, the rubber switches under the keys, i played them down lol

The greatest joy with the PS10 was to combine the walz and swing rhythm by pressing both switches lol
