I’m interested in the hifi currently…
But I have a few questions about cable connection.
(thank you very much for your help.)
I need to connect a S/PDIF optical mini-toslink to a numerical coaxial female …
Some people told me that it’s impossible because optical is not an electric signal.
I agree of course…
But i would like to keep a lossless signal between male optical mini-toslink to numerical coaxial
I have to admit that I’m unfamiliar with a “numerical coaxial cable”. I take it to mean that it doesn’t carry an analog signal? For an analog coaxial cable you’d use something like this to convert the analog signal to digital:
As you can see the box is an S/PDIF to Coax converter or vice versa as it’s bi-directional. Can you provide more information on the coaxiable cable and what device it’s connected to? You’ve piqued my curiosity.
To be more precise: I would like the optical signal from the chromecast to be “decoded” by my sound card.
The chromecast’s digital to analog converter isn’t good enough. And I doubt that a small converter found on the internet is good enough too.
Right, I remember the standard now that I’ve looked at the specs on your USB soundcard. It’s LPCM over shielded cable, wasn’t in wide use. I’ve only been able to find the cheap adapters so far.
