I have lost over 80 lbs since last year and am keeping it off, but am stuck at a plateau right now. I am doing lots of walking and paddle boarding. Watching my diet, but I have been eating more treats than I should lately.

I lost all my extra weight, about 140 lbs. all together, by diet alone…took about eight years but now I weigh 187 and am 5’ -7" so I am happy…I exercise now though.

I have gone from 116 kilos to 95 kilos this year

Stopped eating so much processed food, swim four times a week and only have occasional take out food

Has worked well

Hope this is sustainable as I have done crash dieting in the past and the weight just goes back on

i lost 40 lbs since coming off olanzapine and going on invega. but its kinda disappointing as ive plateaued for like a year and dont go up or down. in 2017 i lost 60 lbs went from 240 to 180 when i stopped olanzapine and went on geodon, but i only got to enjoy that newfound healthy weight for a few months as i was very unstable on geodon and went back on olanzapine.

ive found that even tho people some people disagree on meds and weight gain, every time ive come off the meds i lose weight so rapidly and easily as i was naturally high metabolism skinny guy before meds even when i ate lots of junk

Saxenda which controls appetite and keeps me from snacking all night, daily walking, paddle boarding when I can, and resistance bands. I eliminated most junk food and processed foods from my diet. My doctor put me on the Mediterranean Diet because keto is dangerous to people with my health conditions. I also hated keto so it works for me. I have lowered my carb intake and it is mostly whole grains now when I do have them. Lots of fish, some chicken, occasional pork, and beef is close to being gone from my diet.

One coffee and one diet soda per day and then it’s water.

At 30 I was so skinny that someone said ‘boy, if you lose any more weight you’re gonna lose yourself’ lol. Now, 11 years and 22 kg later, I miss those times…

I’d love to get back down to 12st as i think i would be able to ride a horse again, i was told i’m too heavy :frowning: that would be my target but i dont think its attainable for me, i have cfs/me which kicks my ass when it comes to exercising, i cant explain it bc the dr’s cant even explain it but i get very weak very easily,

despite theweakness some days i just push through and ride my ebike, its a massive win if i can do a good trip on my ebike (the battery helps alot) today wasa good day as i went out on my ebike & had a really good day, i also had a walk & an adventure off the beaten track on a historic trail. so lucky the weather was good & i felt i had the energy

I would love to get back to the pool for a swim & sauna, swimming is great for gentle exercise but its just keeping up the routine.
I don’t think i can do the gym these days a Bouldering is out the window now, I’ve given up with that.

Basically i just try and do what i can when i’m able.

Not me. I attended the gym 4 times a week. I was doing a 5k brisk walk each time.

Lost no weight. I continued for 2 months and then gave up. I’ve since increased my dose of wegovy (weight loss med) and lost roughly 2 stone in weight. No exercise though.

I’ve been known to lose exorbitant amounts of weight previously. In 2018, I lost 100 pounds in five months, then, once I gained 200 pounds due to medication, I lost another 80-100 pounds and been able to keep it off. I’m not done yet. I need to lose another 100 pounds to be satisfied. Luckily, I have a lot of muscle from 11 years of straight weight lifting, but hoping to get it a lot more toned.

I have done all this by portion sizes, watching what I’m eating, and intense cardio.

That’s really impressive. Good job with that, especially the cardio - that’s hard to do with negative symptoms.

Thank you, I actually just started up another period of intense cardio and dieting because I plateaued for a year, fluctuating between ten pounds. I’m feeling way more invigorated to do it, much more than what I have felt previously. I hope you get past your plateau, @shutterbug. You’ve done an excellent job so far.

At one point I was around 230. I lost 50 pounds by doing 10-20,000 steps and eating a lot of oatmeal, salad, and soup.

I gained a bit back, sitting at 208 now. But losing weight now again. I think exercising hard every day is the only way to lose weight. Diet alone won’t do much. You have to train hard and especially cardio.

I am limited to low-impact aerobic activities. I push as hard as I can, but what is hard for me is not hard for most others. I work in some weight training using resistance bands as well. I do find that my weight drops faster if I’m walking at least half an hour every day.

Nice man! I don’t really have a routine set in stone. I just do whatever I feel like doing that’s what keeps me going. Having fun and enjoying it. It’s like any other activity. If someone tells me painting is a good way to make money I’m not gonna become a painter when I don’t enjoy it. On top of being miserable id probably not be good at it too.

I think working out is the same. If I force myself to do things I don’t wanna do, I could theoretically get a nice physique. But realistically I’d be far less likely to do it, and statistically do less of it.

Common sense stuff but… Just saying my piece.

If someone likes soccer, they should play soccer, if someone likes playing basket ball they should play that. That’s the key to success in fitness I believe.

I find working out my arms boring. I find using a paddle board interesting, it’s just a happy accident that it is a good workout for my arms.
