I cant sleep again and its 8 am. Been making real good progress on a beat tho, and now that Im pretty much done I am basically unsure of what to do next.
The strategy for me is make more coffee, eat something and smoke a cig. Thats default mode
Insomnia mode is just the cigs and coffee lol. These are my two modes of the evening besides chillin mode
We dont talk about chillin mode tho
I’m pretty awake. Just been reading this graphic novel I bought about Ed Gein.
It’s 1:46 am here. I might make a cup of coffee and stay up until about six am.
What type of music do you make?
Niceee I just made a cup myself! And whos Ed Gein?
I make mostly hip hop but Ive made a couple rock songs as well. Sometimes I sing or rap but Im not very good at that, just production and guitar playing lol
Kick ass! We’re coffee buddies.
Ed Gein was an American serial killer from Wisconsin. He didn’t exactly kill a huge amount of people but his crimes were very disturbing to hear of. He was also a grave robber and made items out of his victim’s skin.
I used to be really into rapping and making beats too. Nowadays I’m more into jamming on my acoustic once in a while.
Wow that sounds interesting. Used to love crime stuff but since Ive gotten sick Ive found too much of that stuff puts me in a bad headpace. Still try to get in a true crime series on netflix once in awhile. I like docuseries a lot. A graphic novel somehow would disturb me more haha, I think its because theyre still images without narration
Really? Thats awesome! Would you mind listening to a beat of mine and giving your opinion on it?
Yeah, this graphic novel is really sad so far. Ed Gein had a very messed up upbringing.
Sure! I’ll listen to your beat. I don’t have spotify though on my tablet. Do you have anything uploaded to YouTube?
I bet, I would assume many super messed up killers have unfortunately. Whats the name of it? I might check it out actually
Does soundcloud work? Heres the link in case
If not Ill upload to youtube
The title of it is “Did You Hear What Eddie Gein Done?”
It’s very well written and illustrated.
Sorry, the Soundcloud link didn’t work.
I don’t have somnia just disorganized sleeping pattern from schizophrenia I think you call this night mode many rock stars know it far too well
Nice just checked it out it looks really quality actually
No worries! Ill get to uploading it now
@DrZen Night mode! Nice I think if you dont have insomnia tendencies then bein up at night is better. More peaceful and you can sleep during the day, much like a vampire
Nvm this is the video. Sorry rendering error lol Im not good with youtube
Hope you’re doing good man. Don’t burn out buddy, try to get some sleep!
Haha no worries man this aint my first rodeo. Been an insomniac for a long time, thing is Ill crash eventually but got no job or responsibilities today in particular
I’m in what seems like permanent insomnia mode. I have to take 1.5mg of clonazepam every night to sleep. I can’t sleep without it. My insomnia is brutal. It’s been with me for about 6 months now.
i notice when i work on music late in the evening it’s hard to go to sleep cause i get hyped up. I try to watch tv before i go to bed so that i can get tired.
Ey mane! Pretty tight beat!! I love the piano and how you mixed up the rhythm of the beat.
That’s pretty awesome zwolfgang. I really enjoyed listening to it.
Very true the music got me too amped and so I spent all night making a video for it haha. I should do something more relaxing before bed
@Montezuma ty man Im so glad you liked it! I started with the piano melody and did drums last and they sounded too basic so I made em real nice on the chorus!
@schizophrenisaurus thank you man Im happy you enjoyed! This might be my fav one Ive made so far
For sure man!
It kinda reminded me of this awesome underground band called Zombi. Their music is like soundtracks to seventies horror movies. No lyrics, just synth and drums.
I think they’re on Relapse Records.
Oh nice! Ill check them out, I love that kinda stuff, analog synths are really cool to me. Id like to buy a Moog someday, or maybe a Mellotron which is a more modern one.
What kinda tracks did you make when you were producing/emceeing?
