Who here finds it difficult to forgive themselves fully and why?

Sometimes, (recently) I realised that it is a real possibility that I haven’t forgiven myself yet for all my mistakes… And… What about my future mistakes?.. I am not sure how to unconditionally love myself yet. I think.

Help needed please

Perhaps this will help others too.

A problem shared is a problem halved, sort of.

To err is human. I’ve made many, many mistakes just like everyone else and will continue to do so as long as I live. The best way to forgive yourself from mistakes is to learn from them and do better in the future. It’s a good way to make up for it.

I find it hard to forgive how I treated my family 11-17

It was not a good time

Did things I am not proud of, but they have forgiven me, so I guess I could forgive myself?

Edit: I also can’t forgive my step dad for all the fights. He was a grown ass man fighting a teenager

I learned to cope with my faults as seeing my memory as something that’s just an illusion. It just exists in your brain but is not factual.

Have you tried being less of a horrible person?

It would reduce your need to apologize.

I saw your cats and dogs fighting post and was disgusted by it.

I think that was a joke. Or she wanted them to play fight but not actually fight. When I had cats and a dog they would fight playfully but not actually hurt each other.

Are you implying that the past is an illusion to u or not?

Play fight. Yea

That doesn’t excuse the " i can just rehome them" thing.

Animals aren’t objects that can be bought and tossed away willy nilly. Frankly, that mindset is gross and abusive.

The mask slips every so often.

What do u mean?

When people say they’re just kidding.

They’re not kidding.

True, rehoming animals is hard on you and on them. Rehoming my dog was painful for the both of us.

Wtf. I didn’t say I was kidding in the first place.

And that’s my cue.

Well yes the past is an illusion, neuroscientist figured that out. So i wont cling to much to it. Just be a better person and learn from your mistakes

Closing.

And as a warning, anyone that advocates animal abuse can spend time away. We will not tolerate it.

Animals are not playthings.
