Haha same. I’m a grouch about these things.

Unfortunately expressing it just makes us look “obnoxious” to people so I keep quiet. Seems to only reinforce what it intends to speak against.

Eid tomorrow. Gotta visit like three different families from my dad’s side. Two of them are old and boring and third one is batshit crazy.

We just had a cookout with bar b que chicken and hamburgers. It was delicious. Made my fourth of July.

All holidays seem very banal to me. I don’t know if it’s cynicism, flattened affect, or anhedonia.

I still like Halloween. The kiddies are cute and I like giving out good candy, like actual bars and not the cheap stuff. Candy pride lol.

Eid, you mean the end of Ramadan, right? I have some Muslim friends since I lived in France for 3 years before the illness. I didn’t know there were Muslims in Croatia though (if I remember well, they abound in Albania and Kosovo).

There are Muslims in Croatia, just that Catholics are majority. My father’s family is from Bosnia, which is majority Muslims ( it’s a bit more complicated, though) so we visit them on occasions like this. My mother is catholic. I mean…neither of them were actually practicing believers. Religion is very tight with national tradition here.

I see… well, tradition beats religion most of the time. Most Jews, if asked, will answer “agnostic Jew” but they still follow traditions such as Bar Mitzvah and Yom Kippur…

Kicking back by the pool in the sun is fun, we just had a banana colada cocktail lol the guy just made it up himself, was nice but I think it was an afrodisiac if you know what I mean
