Whey isolate

So I’ve been on protein powder for 20 days and for some reason my mental health / positive symptoms have improved.

Although my sleeping pattern has become worse, but I think it’s helping.

Does anyone know the breakdown of whey isolate powder in terms of the amino acids involved?

I was wondering as I know amino acids have been investigated in the past for their benefit to sz patients, feel free to post the links to the papers.

Have you lowered your carb intake? There’s some research that a low carb diet is helpful for schizophrenia. And that’s all I know…

Nope I love pasta and just had a lasagne & have always had a highish carb diet with lots of pasta.

Whey isolate is the best form of powdered protein I’ve heard. I tried it but it gave me some diarrhea. I’m using a 15gm protein drink similar to Ensure called Pronourish which is designed to be easily digested.

I think the various brands have somewhat different profiles of amino acids.

I don’t take whey protein due to lactose intolerance, but I do take about 100 mg a day of plant-based organic protein (and cardio exercise).

My lose bowls has stopped since taking it, but I’ve also been eating a lot of bananas and have felt more constipated recently.

100mg, would that even touch the sides? But I know micro doses of some things might help I guess.

I’m taking 2x25g scoops of whey isolate a day, that equates to 21g a scoop of protein.

I think 100 mg of protein, plus the protein in my normal diet, is sufficient for me.

My original aim was to increase my calorific intake as I lost weight when I stopped going to the gym regularly.

I’m now going but less than I used to and trying to eat more, so I’m hoping for more noticeable gains this time.

Maybe I’m confusing milligrams and grams…I’ll check

@JH85

You’re correct.

100 grams of protein…

I take whey protein with milk and blend it. I’ve been ingesting the stuff for about 6 months now after work out. It beats buying eggs, chicken breast and beef all the time. Very cost saving.

I have blueberry flavour and just mix it in a shaker with cold water.

I’ve heard that protein is a good regulator of blood sugar, and blood sugar has a strong effect on your emotions. I don’t know where I heard that, but I think it is true.

I take whey protein as well. I find it’s good for my heart because I get less pain in my chest since I’ve been taking it. It seems to be good for my positive symptoms too.
