What's your view of mental ill person?

What is your first point of view ?

My point of view depends on the person, their problem, and how they behave. I can’t give a blanket answer for all.

The people I knew personally, were abused and miserable. But there seems to be different types. Maybe other people just have health problems caused by various things.

We have this guy in our town, running around screaming. That’s what I think of mentally ill people. Even if I’m ill myself my opinion doesn’t change.

Most mentally ill people are referred to as nutters

My view is - you have a full body but you are disabled. It creates a lot problems in family to convince that you are generally unable to do things.

Did you guys know I said about my illness and I was selected :flushed:

I was honest at the interview.

I am just speech less.

Was the interview panel comprised of professionals, or had they at least consulted professionals? I hope it all went alright.

Also, I’m with @shutterbug. My opinion differs based on each person, usually by behavior.

Yes they are professionals !

I first I was wondering they choose me so they could run out of business and they would find a sheep/goat to sacrifice and blame.

The job I do is very confidential and risky. People are removed from the job even for the smallest error.

I can’t reveal much but in short I could say it’s life and death situation for my clients customers.

Most of the time I beleive they want to shut the process so they hired me.

I automatically hate any mentally ill person who throws up on me on public transit.

People who are challenged but giving it everything they have get my respect even when they are struggling (if they’re not puking on me on public transit).

What the…? Is that common? I think I shall never take public transit now. Emetophobia rises to the occasion!

ETA: I left an emergency room after I had an issue with my surgery because there were a large number of people holding barf bags. I figured I could just ignore, but the second someone actually started getting sick, I got up without saying a word to my husband, and I left. He followed (he knows I’ve got issues, of course), and we just didn’t go back to that hospital. I’d have been more comfortable if people were sh*tting themselves.

It happened to me once on the way to work. And when I got to work I got laid off. It was not a great day.

I don’t think about anything like that

Have learned over a long time to treat and speak as you find

Unsure how people use labels to form an identity and a schema of how you should treat that person

Seems flawed but what do I know

I informed the hiring team. I am out of job because I have lots of career gaps. And this time I have to speak the truth to get a job.

@Joker

Concern for the person.

I’ve had schizophrenia for over 40 years, so I see a person. I think people who are ignorant of schizophrenia don’t see a person, they see some type of monster. Sad to say.

People generally don’t know what SZ is.
