Oh that reminds me, the smell of toast on an empty stomach

Gardenias. They remind me of my great grandmother.

She died when I was six, but I have great memories of her making me snacks after school, homework and cartoons.

She used a gardenia smelling powder puff, and my grandfather planted some real ones in the back yard for her. I still clip the same plants for flowers in the house.
