I’m 31 and mine was discovered at 8 years old. My biggest psychotic episode was at 15. And my second, confirmed diagnosis was at 25.

I am 48 now and was 44 when I was diagnosed sza. I’ve been in the mental health system since I was 17 though, with various other diagnoses.

I am 41.
I was hospitalised with psychosis at 20 but was in my opinion unwell as a child and I was later diagnosed as schizophrenic by over seven psychiatrist but I can’t remember what date but it was years after the first diagnosis of psychosis.

58 years going on two years. I have a lot to learn.

Diagnosed in 1980 at age 19. My intro to the mental health world was when I saw my first therapist at that age. I was 19 and she was about thirty and I thought she was cutest, sexiest little thing I’d ever seen.
I was having an extremely difficult time but I never showed it or talked about it. We just talked about trivial stuff. I remember once telling her I wanted to have sex with her, lol. She took it in stride and didn’t freak out but gave me a firm no.

But after 5 months of seeing her, the head psychiatrist at the clinic arranged a meeting with me, my parents, my therapist and himself. We talked for 10 minutes and the psychiatrist said I needed to go into the hospital immediately. It was a shock to everyone and my poor therapist started crying because she had no idea that I was that sick. It wasn’t her fault and I felt bad for her; I was just good at hiding my problems. So I went in.
