What's the point in eating if

What’s the point in eating besides very little amounts if you can’t eat anything you like? I ate a KFC sandwich an hour and a half ago and my stomach hurts now… Gluten free stuff don’t taste that good and it’s hard to find… So what is the point in eating as much as I use to… Sometimes I don’t wanna eat at all… I hate this diet

I agree that gluten free tastes gross. It was so disappointing in taste. I couldn’t subject myself or my children to that diet. I don’t see the point as I suspect we don’t have a gluten sensitivity issues.

@anon97859349 I have celiac

My friend makes buns from cheese. She makes them on a waffle iron. She is on strict keto, so it’s carb and gluten free. I can ask her for the recipe

@anon4362788 that would be fantastic!

@anon97859349 it’s okay… Just makes things hard

I’m afraid as a celiac you have to take diet very seriously. If you continue to eat gluten then you raise the chances of lymphoma of the stomach. It is that serious!

I hate having to eat gluten free, but living is more important.

@labratmat I know it is… It’s just hard… Everytime my mom and I hang out she wants to eat out at places without gluten free items available…

You have to explain that eating gluten raises the chance of stomach cancer. She has to take it seriously. Tell her.

@labratmat okay I’ll try… I’m tired of feeling sick… You’re right… I know you’re right and being a good friend I just need to seriously adjust to this and buckle down

You can get flavoured pouches of rice in all sorts of flavours that are gluten free. And rice noodles can come gluten free. The bread I get isn’t as good as the real thing but it suffices.

Gluten free pasta works but it makes me flatulent. There are alternatives out there but they are never quite as good, but needs must.

@labratmat I have a bunch of gluten free pasta and I have a lot of herbs and spices that I can use for different things… I just don’t find pleasure in eating gluten free like I do regular food… Unless it’s fruit… Fruit is good… I just don’t get that pleasure and satisfaction I get from regular food and it’s hard… Do very hard… makes me not want to eat it

I eat a lot of fruit. Fresh and canned. I make my own cereal using roasted nuts seeds and oats. It is worth the effort to make a batch up.

I’ve always loved fruit, so that is a bonus, but having food no longer as a pleasure of old is a hard adjustment. Adjust you must, even if you have to eat to live rather than for pleasure.

It really sucks and it is ok to vent about it. I hope it releases some anguish, but change you must I’m afraid.

@labratmat at first I was excited to be going gluten free… Now it’s just hard… It would be nice to get a few recipes… Maybe a few soft things for until Wednesday… I get my teeth fixed again Wednesday

That is another thing that pisses me off. The side effect of losing enamel on my teeth as a side effect from celiac disease. I clean my teeth religiously everyday and have terrible stains where the enamel has failed.

I’m getting fixed dentures soon that will cost me £19,000! My life savings.

@labratmat I didn’t know that… I got top dentures… The removable kind… They keep hurting in the same spot… 3rd time the charm?

I’m cooking for one, so I don’t bother much and living a strict low calorie diet. Most days I have a pouch of rice plus meat. I have a coconut rice then add tinned peaches occasionally.

An omelette with veg and beans. Or potatoes with veg and meat. I go heavy with paprika, cayenne pepper and pepper.

The internet is filled with ideas for celiac recipes I imagine.
