At school aged 9 I was illiterate, I had extra schooling to be able to read. We had a dog called Sandy and I couldn’t even read that at 9 years old. I learned to read and write which I’m thankful for. I know get pleasure from reading and its my favourite hobby.
Whats it like being illiterate?

I needed extra help in grade school to get caught up with my reading. Books are so magical. Reading quickly became a big hobby of mine after I read a really good novel in junior high school. I’m hooked for life.
12 years of schooling, and son with Down syndrome never learned how to read.

idk, he’s moderate, his disability.
he loves books. he colors in them. ha.
I’ve had to buy library books for that reason.
