What's a good book to buy?

I’m kind of running out of ideas and I could really use some good book recommendations.

Preferably non-fiction. Anything about music, history, or science related stuff.

But I’m open minded to other genres.

Thank you!

History. The Civil War narratives by Shelby Foote are cool.

Science. Anything by Stephen Hawking or Carl Sagan.

Music. Hmm. Beethoven’s Skull is an interesting read.

The Good Earth is a fiction book but it’s very good

Yes, the Good Earth is classic literature. I think I own a copy of this book too.

Thank you for the reading idea.

I read a book (nonfiction ) years ago about the history of :cn: China. If you’re interested in that kind of thing.

Yeah, it might not be the subject I would typically seek out.

But I do think Eastern history is pretty interesting.

To each his own. I’m not a big nonfiction reader so I can’t give any advice really. I’m just useless to you on this one.

Ha!

I just now remembered I did buy a book today, “Chapter and Verse.” It’s by the singer of the band New Order. It’s about his bands and life.

I think mystic books are very appealing and soothing for us

I agree I think they’re appealing to a lot of sz’s.

I just try not to read stuff relating to the occult or magick.

I had a book reserved at the library called “Real magic.” I forgot the author’s name, but it looked kind of triggering for me so I didn’t even check it out.

This is fiction, but I’d say The Sheltering Sky by Paul Bowles if you’ve not read it. A very different kind of horror novel. Pub. 1949, just after WWII. The quality of writing is superior, IMO.
