There was a woman living at home with her Mother who was charged with a number of crimes when she left her Mother’s dead body in the house after she had passed away from natural causes around Memorial Day. I don’t know if this woman was mentally ill but she obviously had no other source of income other than her Mother’s Social Security check. So for those of you living with your parent/parents what would you do if they died? Who could you call for help? Where would you go? This could happen to anyone of you.
I would call an ambulance if they died.
I am likely inheriting the house, so I would stay right where I am. If for some reason I didn’t inherit the house, I have other relatives that I could probably stay with for awhile.
Edit: I will also have consider savings by that time, so I could probably buy a cheap house on my own by then and still have some money to live on.
I’ll inherit my dad’s house where I’m living now. I don’t know if he’ll live long enough to pay it off but if he dies before he can pay it off then hopefully my stepmom will pay it off since she’s a lot younger than my dad is. I just hope I get the house and an inheritance and hopefully the car too because I really don’t want to go back to work ever again. I used to unload semi trucks at Walmart and I hated it!
